Problem and Solution

The Malaysian tourism board has been receiving increasing feedback from international tourists expressing a strong interest in authentic Malay cultural experiences—from traditional customs and festivals to historical sites and cuisine. However, many local tourism front liners (tour guides, hospitality staff, and tour operators) are unable to confidently explain or represent key aspects of Malay history and heritage. Most rely on brochures or lengthy information on the tourism website—resources that are often too text-heavy, dry, or difficult to retain, especially for younger audiences and non-academic readers.

To address this gap, I collaborated with the tourism board to develop an interactive eLearning video module designed to both educate and engage the public members. By shifting from static brochures to a dynamic, multimedia learning experience, the tourism board transformed cultural promotion into a modern, accessible, and impactful format that will hopefully enrich the public members about the living legacy of the the Malay world.
